Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer for its Houston, TX office. This role involves leading design and delivery for utility-scale and renewable energy projects across multiple U.S. locations, coordinating with a seasoned engineering team.

The candidate will provide advanced technical guidance on substations, power distribution, and control systems, ensuring compliance with IEEE, NESC, ANSI, and NERC standards. Texas licensure and 7–10 years’ experience are expected.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience providing design deliverables for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
Engineer license required.
Knowledge of infrastructure design and related codes/regulations.
Experience coordinating subcontractors and supporting QA/QC.

Responsibilities

Provide high-level guidance for data collection, design, and IFC/stage reviews.
Coordinate, review and approve electrical infrastructure design plans for complex projects.
Apply engineering practices to concept, preliminary, and final design phases.
Develop and review single-line diagrams, bus arrangements, and grounding designs.
Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and clients.
