Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Renewable Energy Electrical Engineer for our Houston, TX office. This senior role supports multi-site due diligence, design, and construction of utility-scale projects, including substations, distribution, and protection systems, across the US.

You will guide engineers and subcontractors, review plans and calculations, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high-quality technical documentation in accordance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and professional licensure.
• Experience designing for power generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
• Ability to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and QA/QC practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors and regulatory authorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical infrastructure design and review for projects; ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Guide cross-functional teams through concept, design, procurement, construction, and operation phases.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and project documentation for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with owners, other disciplines, and clients to optimize layouts and safety.
