Job summary

Actalent is seeking an experienced Structural Analysis Engineer to perform dynamic structural analyses for advanced reactor systems, including seismic and transient evaluations. You will develop calculations, reports, and support design verification while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Proficiency in ANSYS and knowledge of industry codes are required. This is a contract position based out of Boston, MA with remote work options and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of engineering experience in structural analysis or related fields.
• 10+ years performing dynamic structural analysis for complex structures.
• Experience with seismic analysis (modal, response spectrum, transient).
• Proven ability to develop detailed engineering calculations and reports.
• Proficiency with ANSYS for structural/dynamic analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform dynamic structural analyses including seismic, modal, and transient evaluations for advanced reactor systems.
• Assess interference and fit-up for complex assemblies.
• Size and specify PRVs per industry codes.
• Develop engineering calculations, reports, and documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support design and verification.
