Intuit seeks a Senior Staff Payroll Tax Processor to lead complex tax defect resolutions across notices, corrections, and amendments. The role focuses on solving challenging payroll tax problems and building team capability while transferring knowledge through coaching and SOP development.

You will own the full lifecycle for complex notices, file amended returns, and ensure knowledge transfer with cross-functional collaboration in a remote, flexible-hour environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of payroll tax experience focused on tax defect resolution across multiple states.
• Independent drafting of penalty abatement requests and agency responses with documentation.
• Experience preparing amended Federal and State payroll tax returns including Form 941-X and W-2c.
• Strong knowledge of FICA, FUTA, FITW and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex state and federal payroll tax notices from intake to closure.
• Prepare and file amended payroll tax returns across 10+ states.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors across pay periods and jurisdictions; drive correction workflows to resolution.
• Coach and support junior staff to build team capability.
