Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Technical Support Specialist to join a distributed team. The role supports users across South Africa from Queenstown, requiring expert troubleshooting, strong problem-solving, and commitment to service excellence.

Responsibilities include diagnosing hardware, software, and network issues, maintaining IT systems, and developing knowledge base articles. A suitable candidate will have remote-work experience, certifications, and strong collaboration

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical support or IT specialist roles.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux.
• Experience with Azure or AWS is advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong remote work communication and collaboration.
• Relevant certifications (MCSE, CCNA, CompTIA Server+) desired.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
• Diagnose and resolve complex problems via remote access tools and channels.
• Manage and maintain IT systems, including servers, networks, and applications.
• Escalate unresolved issues to senior engineers or specialized teams with detailed analysis.
• Develop and maintain documentation for technical solutions and procedures.
• Create and update knowledge base articles to assist end-users and support staff.
• Proactively monitor system performance and identify potential issues.
• Collaborate with other IT departments to implement and manage IT infrastructure projects.
