Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group seeks a Senior Field Property Adjuster for the New Haven, Connecticut territory. This remote, full-time role involves independent management of moderate to high-value field property claims with strong investigation, evaluation, and negotiation skills.

Travel on short notice is required. You will set reserves, authorize payments, and ensure compliant handling of claims while collaborating with internal teams and external experts.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with claim handling.
• Typically 5–10 years of adjusting experience.
• Must have and maintain appropriate state adjuster licenses.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage field property claims, including CAT response and high-value files.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, issue reserve notes and letters.
• Coordinate with legal, underwriting, vendors, and agents; may attend mediations/arbitrations/trials.
• Mentor junior adjusters and contribute to training.
