Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group in Traverse City, MI seeks a Senior Field Property Adjuster to independently manage moderate to high‑value field property claims, including CAT responses. You will perform advanced investigations, evaluate coverage, set reserves, and coordinate with legal, underwriting, and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5–10 years of adjusting experience.
• Knowledge of local regulations, statutes, and liability concepts.
• Excellent negotiation skills and sound judgment on litigation matters.
• Ability to travel and work on-site as needed.
• Proficiency in claims systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage field property claims including CAT responses.
• Lead investigations, assess coverage, and issue letters.
• Maintain detailed claim records and liaise with stakeholders.
• Mentor junior adjusters and support training.
• Deliver empathetic, clear communications throughout the claims process.
