Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Commercial Surety Underwriter to analyze and underwrite new and renewal business for the Southeast Region. The role involves partnering with brokers, applying the Zurich Way of Underwriting, and delivering high-quality service within delegated authority.

The position can be filled at Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in underwriting or market-facing finance roles.
• 6+ years in claims or underwriting support roles.
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and standard software.

Responsibilities

• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Qualify accounts to meet appetite and opportunity.
• Make broker, agent, customer calls with planned purpose.
• Negotiate terms and close deals.
• Cross-sell other lines to increase product density.
• Lead complex projects to implement new systems or programs.
