Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Commercial Surety Underwriter to analyze and underwrite new and renewal business within the Southeast region. The role supports broker relationships and utilizes Zurich's underwriting framework to write profitable business.

The position will be filled as either an Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter depending on experience, with a focus on development of complex solutions and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years of underwriting or market facing experience.
• Knowledge of underwriting principles and ability to manage complex opportunities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic tech tools.

Responsibilities

• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete detailed opportunity assessments with key distributors.
• Qualify accounts to meet appetite and opportunities.
• Make agent/broker/customer calls with a clear purpose.
• Negotiate terms and close deals and cross-sell other lines.
