Zurich NA is seeking an experienced Commercial Surety Underwriter to analyze and underwrite a book of new and renewal business within the Surety Team. The role leverages the Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework and delegated authority to deliver high-quality service to customers.

Position can be filled at Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level, depending on experience. Remote working options are available in this national role, with a strong emphasis on relationship-building with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3+ years of experience in underwriting or market facing roles.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 1+ year in underwriting or market facing area.
• Zurich Certified Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 4+ years in claims or underwriting support.
• Knowledge of lines of business and regulatory guidelines.
• Experience with quotes for new and renewal business; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsabilités

• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete opportunity assessments with key distributors to identify growth.
• Qualify accounts to match appetite and opportunities.
• Make agent/broker/customer visits with prepared purpose.
• Negotiate terms and close deals.
• Cross-sell other lines to increase density.
• Participate in Sales Team meetings for assigned brokers/territory.
• Engage target account process 90–120 days before effective date.
• Update broker/client visit details and account status in systems.
• Serve as key contact for assigned target accounts.
• Develop broker/client networks related to underwritten industries.
• Contribute to u/w manuals, programs, guidelines.
• Lead complex projects to implement new systems or products.
• Investigate and implement leading-edge technical solutions.
