Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking an experienced field technician to install, test, and troubleshoot protective relays and metering systems across energized environments.

Responsibilities include commissioning new installations, interpreting schematics, and coordinating with engineers and clients to ensure reliable operation. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED with extensive electrical experience, and familiarity with safety standards such as NFPA, NEC and OSHA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 10+ years of electrical experience.
• NETA / NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair and program protective relays and associated wiring in energized electrical rooms, vaults, and substations.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and substation drawings; perform testing and commissioning of relays and metering equipment.
• Operate test equipment and follow safety practices; coordinate testing and repairs with other departments.
