Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Protective Relaying Technician to install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems in transmission and distribution environments.

You will interpret schematics, perform diagnostics, and coordinate repairs to ensure reliability and safety. Candidates typically have 5+ years of electrical experience or related degree, with NICET/NETA preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical experience OR associate’s degree and 4+ years of experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience
• NETA/NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25–50% of the time
• Valid/active U.S. Work Authorization

Responsibilities

• Install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and substation drawings
• Use test equipment safely and effectively in energized environments
• Coordinate testing, troubleshooting and repairs with other departments
• Perform acceptance and maintenance testing to ensure compliance with standards
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior technicians
• Maintain detailed test reports and client documentation
