Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a skilled electrical technician to install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems for transmission and distribution operations.

The role focuses on reliability and safety, with diagnostic evaluations and schematic interpretation to coordinate repairs. You will test and service relays, circuit breakers, transformers, and switchgear, traveling up to 50% to support field projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant electrical experience or an associate's degree with 2+ years experience or a bachelor's degree with 1+ years experience.
• U.S. Work Authorization required.
• NETA/NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Understanding of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Program, install and maintain protective relaying and metering equipment.
• Perform electrical tests and repairs to maintain relays and transmission equipment.
• Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and substation drawings; locate defective equipment.
• Operate test equipment and follow safe work practices per the safety handbook.
• Commission new relay and metering installations and coordinate tests with other teams.
• Maintain and test relays and related equipment including generators and meters.
