Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a field technician to install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems used in transmission and distribution.

You will perform diagnostic evaluations, interpret schematics, and coordinate repairs to ensure reliable and safe electrical operations. The role requires hands-on testing with relay and metering equipment, strong documentation, and collaboration with engineers and clients.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of electrical experience or an associate’s degree with 2+ years of experience or a bachelor’s degree with 1+ year of experience
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25–50% of the time
• Experience with protective relaying, metering and testing equipment
• Valid/active U.S. work authorization

Responsibilities

• Program, install, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems
• Analyze test results and interpret electrical diagrams to locate defects
• Use test equipment in energized environments following safety procedures
• Commission new relay and metering installations and coordinate testing with other teams
• Maintain detailed test reports and documentation for compliance and client review
