Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems for transmission and distribution operations.

You will interpret schematics, program protective relays, and coordinate testing and repairs across teams. The role requires travel up to 75% domestically and internationally, with strong safety standards knowledge and hands-on experience with test equipment such as Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, and Fluke meters.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant electrical experience with a related field.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
• U.S. work authorization is required.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, NETA, NFPA, NEC and OSHA standards.
• Willingness to travel 25–75% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems.
• Analyze test results and interpret schematics to locate faults.
• Coordinate testing and repairs with other departments.
• Perform acceptance and maintenance testing per NETA standards.
• Calibrate and program protective relays for multiple manufacturers.
• Maintain detailed test reports and client documentation.
• Assist in commissioning and startup of new installations.
