Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking an experienced technician to install, program, test, and maintain protective relaying and metering systems used in transmission and distribution. You will diagnose issues, interpret schematics, and coordinate repairs in industrial environments.

The role requires strong electrical testing skills, the ability to travel up to 50% and to work safely in substations and data centers, with a focus on reliability and compliance with NETA standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical experience or a relevant degree path with years of related work.
• Valid US work authorization required.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
• Hold a clean driving record in accordance with company policy.
• NETA / NICET certification preferred or equivalent hands-on testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Programs, installs and maintains protective relaying and metering; performs tests for reliability.
• Interprets schematics and wiring diagrams to locate faulty equipment.
• Operates test equipment in energized electrical rooms, vaults and substations.
• Reviews blueprints and substation drawings for inspections and repairs.
• Commissions new relay and metering installations and coordinates testing with other teams.
• Performs maintenance and testing of relays, breakers, transformers and switchgear.
• Troubleshoots faults and performs root-cause analysis; participates in emergency callouts.
• Maintains detailed test reports and documentation for compliance and client review.
