Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Lead Relay Settings Engineer to drive protection and relay control design for major utility substations. You will specify, calculate, and coordinate relay settings, engage in short circuit studies, and present technical solutions to customers.

This role supports multiple US locations and offers remote work options. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in protection and control engineering, ASPEN or CAPE experience, and is PE-eligible or registered.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in protection and control engineering and relay settings.
• Strong analytical and computer skills are required.
• Ability to identify necessary software to complete design work.

Responsibilities

• Design, specification, setting calculation, and coordination of protective relaying and relay control schemes.
• Modeling, short circuit and overstressed breaker studies and protective relaying recommendations for generation interconnections.
• Ensures all relay settings activities conform to company policies and client design standards.
• Present technical solutions to customers and respond to real-time technical questions.
• Collaborate with Qualus teams to implement technical solutions for engineering objectives.
