Job summary

INS Engineering is seeking a Lead Relay Settings Engineer to own protective relay coordination for utility and renewable projects. You will develop and validate relay settings, review coordination plots and setting files, and lead QA/QC with a senior team.

You will mentor engineers, manage client discussions, and collaborate with project managers on scope, schedule and risk. This is a remote role within the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and PE license or equivalent.
• Recent ownership of relay settings for utility/renewable projects.
• Experience with line protection schemes (87L, POTT, DCB, 21/67) and transformer/station functions.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and validate protection.
• Develop, calculate and review relay settings and protection coordination plots.
• Review protection schematics, relay logic and bus protection.
• Lead QA/QC, coordinate inputs across concurrent projects.
• Present settings approaches to utilities and clients.
• Mentor engineers and guide technical work.
