Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Senior Relay Settings Engineer to join our Power Delivery Solutions team. This role focuses on designing and configuring relay settings for high‑voltage substations and renewable projects, collaborating with protection engineers and clients across locations.

The position requires a BSEE (ABET) with 4+ years of experience in power protection, CAPE/OneLiner familiarity, and strong technical reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from ABET-accredited school.
• Minimum of four plus years of relevant experience such as power system protection, developing relay settings, creating logic diagrams.
• Able to understand Aspen OneLiner / Siemens CAPE for coordination and fault studies.
• Experience in preparing high‑quality technical reports for protective relay settings and related studies.
• Ability to develop relay settings for SEL, Alstom, GE, ABB, and others.
• Deep understanding of transmission line protection schemes and substation protection schemes.
• Experience interpreting schematics and wiring diagrams.
• High attention to detail with a passion for quality.
• Strong engineering and interpersonal skills with ability to work in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare relay settings from 4.16kV through 500kV including relay set points, logic diagrams, configuration files and documentation.
• Collaborate with protection engineers and perform quality reviews on relay setting packages.
• Support a full range of project planning activities through design and construction support.
• Work directly with clients as well as other staff in remote office locations.
• Solve challenging substation engineering problems.
