Job summary

RRC Companies' RRC Power and Energy division in Round Rock, TX is seeking a Relay Settings Engineer to support transmission, distribution, substations and renewable energy facilities from remote locations or any US/Canada office.

You will develop protective relay settings, perform coordination and fault analyses, review drawings, and assist with commissioning and energization of substations. 5+ years' experience, PE or P.Eng preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years in relay settings, protection, and power systems engineering.
• PE license in the U.S. or P.Eng. in Canada preferred.
• Experience with ETAP, ASPEN, SKM, or CAPE for studies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and calculate protective relay settings for transmission, distribution, substations, and renewables.
• Perform relay coordination, short circuit, and fault analyses.
• Review diagrams and protection drawings for accuracy and compliance.
• Support commissioning, testing, and energization of substations.
