Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking an experienced Rebar Estimator/Detailer to join our remote work model. The role involves estimating reinforcing-steel quantities, developing labor and material costs, and ensuring accurate takeoffs from structural drawings and specifications.

You will collaborate with project teams to establish bid strategies and improve detailing workflows. The ideal candidate will have substantial reinforcing-steel experience, ability to read drawings, and proficiency with AutoCAD or

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on reinforcing-steel experience.
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel for large projects.
• Experience detailing reinforcing steel or reviewing placing drawings.
• Ability to read structural drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with fabrication and field placement processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, labor and equipment.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project conditions.
• Identify constructability issues and bid risks early.
• Prepare conceptual to final estimates and support bid strategy.
• Coordinate with project management and field teams on pricing and changes.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation and assumptions.
• Mentor junior estimators and detailers as the department grows.
