Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a Senior Rebar Estimator/Detailer to lead takeoffs, cost analysis and detailing for large reinforcing projects. This remote role partners with estimating, project management and field teams to build accurate bids and robust preconstruction data.

You will develop production-rate benchmarks, historical cost databases and department standards, mentoring junior staff as the team grows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in reinforcing-steel industry with focus on estimating and detailing.
• Significant experience estimating reinforcing steel for large projects.
• Experience detailing reinforcing steel or reviewing placing drawings.
• Strong ability to read structural drawings and specs.
• Familiarity with fabrication and field placement processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, labor and equipment.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability issues.
• Coordinate reinforcing steel with structural, architectural and MEP requirements.
• Prepare placing drawings and bar lists; manage RFIs.
• Mentor junior estimators; establish department standards.
• Assist management with bid strategy and pricing.
