Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a senior Reinforcing-Steel Estimator to join our estimating and project teams. This role combines takeoff accuracy with cost analysis, detailing coordination, and preconstruction planning.

The ideal candidate has extensive reinforcing-steel experience, can review structural drawings, develop labor and material pricing, and mentor junior estimators as the department grows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in reinforcing-steel industry; preference for 10+ years.
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel and detailing placing drawings.
• Experience with large concrete-intensive projects.
• Strong reading of structural drawings and specifications; knowledge of ACI/CRSI.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, freight and other project costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Coordinate reinforcing steel with structural, architectural and MEP requirements.
• Identify constructability issues and risks before bid submission.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates; assist in bid strategy.
