Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking an experienced reinforcing-steel estimator/detailer to serve as a technical resource for estimating, project management, and operations. You will help establish estimating standards, production rates, and historical cost data while reviewing structural drawings and detailing requirements.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on experience in the reinforcing-steel industry with project experience.
• Ability to independently review structural drawings and specifications.
• Experience in developing labor and material pricing and detailing requirements.
• Strong understanding of reinforcing-steel fabrication and field placement.
• Proven ability to estimate, detail and manage preconstruction efforts.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor and equipment estimates.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project conditions.
• Coordinate with project mgmt to resolve constructability issues pre-bid.
• Prepare conceptual to final estimates and bid strategies.
• Mentor junior estimators and detailers as the department grows.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation.
