Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a senior Estimator to lead reinforcing-steel takeoffs, costing, and preconstruction efforts for large concrete projects. The role involves reviewing drawings, developing labor and material pricing, and coordinating with project teams to ensure accurate bids and robust estimating standards.

The candidate will act as a technical resource for estimating, project management, and operations, contributing to the company’s preconstruction process and historical cost database.

Qualifications

• Substantial hands-on experience in reinforcing-steel industry.
• Ability to independently review structural drawings and specs.
• Experience with large concrete projects and bid strategy development.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from structural drawings and specifications.
• Develop accurate estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, freight and other project costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions based on project-specific conditions.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management in establishing final bid strategy and selling price.
• Coordinate pricing with material, fabrication, and subcontractor sources.
