Job summary

B&B Concrete Contractors is seeking a senior Rebar Estimator/Detailer to join our remote team. You will act as a technical resource for estimating, project management and operations, and help establish the company’s estimating standards and preconstruction processes.

Responsibilities include complete reinforcing-steel takeoffs, developing cost estimates, coordinating with project teams, and mentoring junior estimators as the department grows.

Qualifications

• 7+ years reinforcing-steel industry experience.
• Strong ability to read structural drawings and specs.
• Experience estimating and detailing large concrete projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop accurate estimates for material, fabrication, detailing, labor, equipment and freight.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions based on project conditions.
• Review plans for scope gaps and constructability concerns.
• Identify project risks and bid exposures.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist in establishing bid strategy and selling price.
• Solicit and evaluate material and subcontractor pricing.
