Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a seasoned estimator focused on reinforcing steel to drive takeoffs, cost development, and preconstruction data. The role supports operations with standards, production-rate databases, and a historical cost database.

The ideal candidate will review drawings, develop labor and material pricing, and help establish the company’s estimating practices while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with project teams.

Qualifications

• Substantial reinforcing-steel industry experience required.
• Strong ability to read structural drawings and specifications.
• Experience estimating large reinforcing-steel projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, equipment, and other costs.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions for projects.
• Identify scope gaps and constructability concerns before bids.
• Assist management with bid strategy and pricing.
• Coordinate with project management and field personnel to resolve detailing issues.
