Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a seasoned Estimator to serve as a technical resource for estimating, project management and operations. This role will help establish estimating standards, production-rate databases and preconstruction processes for Reinforcing-steel work.

The ideal candidate has hands-on reinforcement experience and can review drawings to provide reliable cost estimates and risk assessments for projects across commercial and industrial markets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of reinforcing-steel industry experience.
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel for large projects.
• Strong ability to read structural drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, placing labor, and equipment estimates.
• Establish labor hours and production assumptions per project.
• Analyze bar sizes, tonnage, congestion, and embeds.
• Review plans for gaps and constructability concerns.
• Identify risks and cost exposures before bid submission.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management with bid strategy and pricing.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation.
