Job summary

B&B Concrete is seeking a senior Reinforcing-steel Estimator/Detailer who will partner with estimating, project management and operations to establish the company’s estimating standards, production rates and historical cost database. This role supports preconstruction and field teams across remote projects.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in reinforcing-steel, reviews drawings, performs takeoffs, develops labor/material pricing and identifies constructability issues to deliver

Qualifications

• 7+ years of reinforcing-steel industry experience, preferably with a fabricator or contractor.
• Experience estimating reinforcing steel and detailing or reviewing placing drawings.
• Strong ability to read structural drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete reinforcing-steel quantity takeoffs from drawings and specs.
• Develop material, fabrication, detailing, labor, equipment, freight costs.
• Establish labor hours based on project conditions.
• Review plans for scope gaps, constructability and risks.
• Prepare conceptual, preliminary and final estimates.
• Assist management with bid strategy and pricing.
• Coordinate with vendors for pricing when required.
• Maintain organized estimate documentation and assumptions.
• Lead standard estimating procedures and templates.
