Job summary

Concurrent Real-Time, part of HBK’s Virtual Test Division, seeks a Principal Engineer for the Simulation Workbench team. You will own core SimWB subsystems, including the real-time scheduler and configuration server, and drive the technical direction in a hands-on senior role.

You will design and debug I/O support for FPGA cards and protocols such as EtherCAT, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, and Ethernet, while developing the SimWB SDK and APIs for customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development in a Linux environment.
• Expert-level C/C++, solid Java knowledge.
• Experience with real-time systems and determinism.
• Hands-on with I/O boards, device-level software, and hardware bring-up.
• MATLAB/Simulink integration in real-time environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve core SimWB subsystems, including scheduler and configuration server.
• Design, implement, and debug I/O support for FPGA cards and protocols (EtherCAT, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN).
• Develop and maintain SimWB SDK and APIs for customers and internal teams.
• Diagnose complex real-time timing issues and hardware/software integration.
• Provide technical escalation support and mentor engineers.
