Job summary

HBK Hottinger Brüel & Kjaer (HBK) seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Simulation Workbench team. You’ll own features end to end, from design through release, and work on real-time Linux software interfacing with I/O hardware for automotive, aerospace, and defense customers.

The role is hands-on in a small team, collaborating with the Principal Engineer to extend SimWB. You’ll debug hardware/software integration and contribute to test and documentation efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software development in a Linux environment.
• Strong C and C++, with working knowledge of Java and Python.
• Experience owning features from design through release.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test features across the SimWB product in a real-time Linux environment.
• Develop and maintain I/O support for FPGA cards and protocols like EtherCAT, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN, and Ethernet.
• Debug issues spanning software and hardware using lab equipment.
• Contribute to the SimWB release process including build, validation, and packaging.
• Support customer escalations in areas of ownership and write tests/documentation.
