Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is seeking a Specialist Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer to design real-time DSP algorithms for high-power UPS and related products. The role supports energy storage and AI load-smoothing initiatives within a global, multi-disciplinary team.

You will develop and validate advanced power conversion controls, using MATLAB/Simulink and real-time simulators like OPAL-RT, while guiding other engineers and aligning with schedule, cost,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution with minimum 8 years work experience in real-time digital controls and algorithms for power electronics or industrial products.

Responsibilities

• Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting customer requirements and Eaton standards.
• Provide guidance and leadership to technical project teams.
• Collaborate with global product development teams on performance, safety, reliability, and quality.
• Develop mathematical models and algorithms for DSP controls of power conversion products.
• Create simulations in MATLAB/Simulink and verify designs.
• Develop converter control algorithms and validate across simulations and HIL testbeds.
• Evaluate control architectures to select best fit for applications.
• Apply controls theory to design high-performance controllers.
• Validate designs with real-time simulation systems (OPAL-RT).
• Contribute to new product development in UPS, energy storage and advanced tech lines.
