Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is seeking a Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer Specialist to join our team in a hybrid role near Raleigh, NC. The role focuses on real-time DSP algorithms for high-power UPS and energy storage products.

You will design, simulate, and validate control systems using MATLAB/Simulink and OPAL-RT, collaborating with global teams and supporting a flexible hybrid work model with relocation assistance for eligible US residents.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8+ years real-time controls experience
MS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years real-time controls experience
PhD in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years real-time controls experience
H1B visa transfer sponsorship available for qualified candidates

Responsibilities

Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting customer requirements and Eaton safety, quality, reliability, cost and schedule commitments
Provide guidance and leadership to other technical team members
Collaborate with global product development teams to solve performance, safety and reliability challenges
Develop mathematical models and algorithms for advanced DSP controls of power conversion products
Create and validate control designs via MATLAB/Simulink and real-time simulations (OPAL-RT)
Develop and validate converter control algorithms across simulations and HIL environments
