Job summary
Eaton seeks a Specialist Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer to join its Electrical Critical Power Solutions team in a hybrid Raleigh, NC area role. You will design real-time DSP algorithms for high-power UPS and energy storage products and collaborate with global teams to deliver robust control systems.
You will apply MATLAB/Simulink, develop converter control algorithms, and validate designs on real-time simulations and HIL testbeds, contributing to next-generation power
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years real-time digital controls experience or
- MS with 5+ years real-time digital controls experience or
- PhD with 2+ years real-time digital controls experience in power electronics or industrial products
Responsibilities
- Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting requirements, safety, reliability, cost and schedule commitments.
- Provide guidance and leadership to project team members.
- Work with global teams to solve performance, safety, reliability and quality issues.
- Develop mathematical models and algorithms for DSP controls of power conversion products.
- Develop simulations using MATLAB/Simulink and verify designs via simulations.
- Validate designs with real-time simulations and (OPAL-RT) hardware-in-the-loop tests.
- Analyze and select control architectures for applications.
- Apply controls theory to design controllers achieving target performance.
