Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is hiring a Specialist Digital Controls and Embedded Software Engineer for a hybrid Raleigh, NC role. You will design real-time DSP control algorithms for three-phase UPS systems and energy storage products, from concept to production, with a global, multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering and hands-on experience in real-time controls, MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, and HIL tools like OPAL-RT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering with required years of experience in real-time digital controls.
• Experience with power electronics and UPS systems.
• Proficient in C/C++ coding and MATLAB/Simulink for DSP design.
• Ability to work in a hybrid Raleigh, NC location with relocation support.

Responsibilities

• Launch critical power infrastructure products meeting customer requirements and Eaton standards.
• Provide guidance and leadership to other team members.
• Collaborate with global product development teams to solve performance and reliability challenges.
• Develop mathematical models and DSP control algorithms for power conversion.
• Create simulations in MATLAB/Simulink and verify designs.
• Validate converter control algorithms across simulations and HIL tests.
• Evaluate control architectures to select best fit for applications.
• Apply control theory to design controllers achieving target performance.
