Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer for a remote, US-based role supporting a Federal Government client. The position requires 10+ years in IT with quantum computing and cryptography experience and a Public Trust level 4 clearance.

You will work with Python, C++, and Java to implement cryptographic algorithms and shape PQC strategies. U.S. citizenship is required for this opportunity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience with quantum computing and cryptography.
• Experience with government-scale projects or similar agencies.
• Master's degree may substitute up to 2 years.
• Familiarity with NIST PQC standards and cryptographic modernization.

Responsibilities

• Implement and test cryptographic algorithms using Python, C++, and Java.
• Advise on migration to quantum resistant algorithms and PQC strategies.
• Assess cryptographic inventory and prioritize migrations.
• Communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership.
• Provide guidance on standards like FIPS 203–205 and NIST.
