Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC seeks a Quantum Computing/Cryptography Engineer to support a Federal Government client in a 100% remote role. The candidate will leverage quantum mechanics, PQC expertise, and modern cryptographic standards to guide migrations and risk communications.

The role requires 10+ years of IT experience with quantum cryptography, and familiarity with Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, and MS QDK. U.S. citizenship and security clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience with quantum computing and cryptography in large orgs or government
• Expertise in quantum mechanics, algorithms, and information theory
• Experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Quipper, MS QDK)
• Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography and NIST standards
• Experience communicating quantum risk to leadership

Responsibilities

• Utilize Python, C++, and Java for cryptographic algorithms
• Advise on PQC migration plans and PQC implementation strategies
• Assess cryptographic inventory and migration priorities
• Communicate quantum risk to non-technical leadership
• Provide policy inputs aligned with NIST PQC standards (FIPS 203, 204, 205)
