Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Lead Quality Control Engineer to manage QC on large commercial projects. You will apply quality policies, direct non-conforming work removal, and coordinate field and office QC activities, mentoring junior engineers as needed.

This safety-sensitive position requires a 4-year degree in civil/structural engineering, architecture or construction management and 3–5 years of site experience.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture or construction management.
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
• Ability to understand specifications, standards and codes across all disciplines (architectural, civil, structural, mechanical and electrical).

Responsibilities

• Review and update the project quality process log (QPL) and provide comments to the QC manager.
• Direct the removal and replacement of non-conforming work and stop work not in compliance with the contract.
• Submit and review RFIs to ensure changes are implemented in the field.
• Coordinate daily test and inspection schedules and participate in punch list processes.
• Audit QC procedures and participate in CIP and lessons-learned initiatives.
• Perform safety and housekeeping inspections through the SAFE program.
