Job summary

Hensel Phelps seeks a Quality Control Manager to lead the QC program on one or more projects, coordinating QC engineers and collaborating with PMs and superintendents. This safety‑sensitive role ensures quality compliance and timely issue resolution across multiple teams.

The ideal candidate will have a civil/structural engineering background, 5–7 years on large commercial builds, and strong experience with Prolog, Primavera and AutoCAD, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture or construction management, or similar experience in a related position.
• Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience on large commercial construction projects.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Computer software – Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel based templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the start‑up and implementation of the six‑step quality control/safety process.
• Lead the weekly QC meetings.
• Interface directly with owner's quality assurance and management on all quality‑related issues.
• Review initial and follow‑up inspection reports, punch list items and close‑in inspection results.
• Submit and review RFIs to ensure changes are implemented in the field.
• Document and submit a daily report of quality control activity.
• Audit trade partner quality control procedures.
• Coordinate third party testing agency activities with Hensel Phelps and the trade partners.
• Evaluation and development of QC personnel.
