Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking a Senior Purchasing Manager to oversee all procurement functions for our renewables projects. You will lead, coach, and align field buyers, develop strategic sourcing plans, and drive process improvements across Procore and supplier management.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field.
• Seven+ years of purchasing or procurement experience in construction.
• Experience leading others.
• Experience negotiating; terms & conditions, MSAs, NDAs, and related contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Field Purchasing Manager and Category Buyers, ensuring effective execution of procurement processes.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, provide coaching, and foster professional development opportunities within the team.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company’s objectives and growth goals.
• Drive and enforce document control to ensure POs, approvals, and documents are saved in Procore.
• Ensure repository of negotiated agreements including master vendor agreements is maintained.
• Coordinate updates to master templates, procedures, and agreements with stakeholders.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies, regulations, and legal requirements.
• Provide contract negotiation guidance to buyers using company guidelines.
• Provide direction on proper contract formats for requested work scope.
• Work with Compliance and Legal to review contracts and related documentation.
• Identify and mitigate procurement risks to ensure continuity of supply.
• Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes for efficiency.
• Work with IT to implement procurement software and tools.
• Track and report procurement activities, POs, invoices, and inventory.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Compliance, HR, and IT for seamless processes.
• Provide updates to senior management on performance, issues, and opportunities.
• Lead weekly meetings and guide the team on challenges and priorities.
• Manage staffing levels within Purchasing and support HR on staffing issues.
• Provide ongoing training for the Purchasing team.
