Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Senior Test Engineer to independently execute testing, commissioning, and validation across transmission, distribution, and generation substations. This role emphasizes system-level understanding of protection schemes and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities include relay testing across platforms, CT/VT testing, and coordinating with Leads to accelerate project readiness. The position supports greenfield and brownfield projects up to 765 kV with SCADA integration

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of high-voltage protection & control testing experience.
• Experience commissioning substations from 12.5 kV through 765 kV preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology; Associate degree accepted.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred; NEC/ OSHA knowledge advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute relay protection testing using multiple platforms.
• Test and validate protection elements including line, transformer, bus, feeder, breaker failure, reclosing, and transfer trip.
• Prepare full test plans, isolation plans, energization plans, and commissioning procedures.
• Mentor Test Engineer II team members and promote safe work practices.
• Support project readiness and client turnover with Lead oversight.
