Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Senior Test Engineer to lead protection testing, commissioning, and validation across substations up to 765kV. You will work with Doble, Omicron, RTS, SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista, and other platforms with minimal supervision.

The role emphasizes understanding how protection components interact within a complete system, including CT/VT theory, relay logic, and control circuits. You will mentor less experienced engineers and support greenfield and brownfield projects

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in high-voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning.
• Experience commissioning substations from 12.5kV through 765kV preferred.
• Experience with relay platforms such as SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute relay protection testing and commissioning.
• Test and validate protection elements including line, transformer, bus, feeder, breaker failure, and trip schemes.
• Interpret relay logic, phasors, event reports, and oscillography to identify anomalies.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a safety-focused, high-quality field environment.
