Job summary

POWERX is seeking a P&C Senior Test Engineer to lead independent testing, commissioning, and validation across transmission, distribution, and generation substations. The role requires strong protection test execution with understanding of CT/VT theory, relay logic, and control circuit verification.

You will build skills toward project ownership, mentoring teammates and ensuring safety and quality in every scope.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in high-voltage Protection & Control testing and commissioning.
• Experience commissioning substations from 12.5kV through 765kV preferred.
• Experience with SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, Westinghouse, or equivalent relay platforms.

Responsibilities

• Independently execute relay protection testing using Doble, Omicron, RTS, SEL AcSELerator, GE Enervista.
• Test and validate protection elements including line, transformer, bus, feeder, breaker schemes.
• Perform CT/PT testing including ratio, polarity, phasing, and grounding verification.
• Execute complete relay input/output testing, and timing tests with pass/fail determinations.
• Interpret relay logic and event reports to identify anomalies and communicate findings to Lead.
• Apply power system fundamentals and protection coordination knowledge in testing.
• Read and navigate one-lines, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Support switching activities and outage coordination with Lead oversight.
