Job summary

Greystar is seeking a maintenance technician to oversee and perform technical and mechanical work ensuring community buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas meet Greystar standards for cleanliness, safety, and functionality.

You will diagnose resident-reported issues, perform repairs, manage make-ready tasks for vacant units, and help maintain budgets while contributing to preventative maintenance and safety programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and training.
• Experience in property maintenance or other building maintenance or related trade.
• Incumbents must provide own hand tools and be skilled in safe use of hand/power tools.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to represent management.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheets; property management systems preferred.
• Mathematical skills for financial/admin documents.

Responsibilities

• Assists and completes work orders from resident requests and routine upkeep by diagnosing defects and making repairs per policy and safety standards.
• Oversees and completes the make-ready process for vacant apartments, including inspections, punch lists, scheduling, and supplies.
• Develops standards for cleanliness and appearance of grounds, exteriors, interiors, and common areas to reflect Greystar quality.
• Periodically inspects work by service team members and contractors to ensure quality and standards.
• Maintains inventory of spare parts and tools; works with Community Manager on supplies within budget.
• Completes monthly preventative maintenance and assists in budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
