Job summary

Greystar is seeking a maintenance technician to oversee and perform technical and mechanical work to keep the community buildings, grounds, amenities, and common areas up to Greystar standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and functionality.

You will diagnose resident service requests, complete make-ready inspections, coordinate vendors, maintain inventory, and support budget goals while ensuring safety compliance and quality workmanship across the property.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or related experience.
• Experience in property management maintenance or related trade.
• Must provide own hand tools unless prohibited by state law.
• Ability to apply logical thinking to problems.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively for internal/external contacts.
• Proficiency with internet, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair issues from resident service requests while following policies and safety standards.
• Oversee make-ready process for vacant units, inspect, schedule vendors, and ensure timely prep.
• Set and maintain cleanliness/appearance standards for grounds, exteriors, interiors, and common areas.
• Periodically inspect work by staff and contractors for quality and compliance.
• Maintain inventory and coordinate with Community Manager on supplies and budget.
• Run monthly preventative maintenance as per policy.
• Assist in budgeting for repairs and capital projects.
• Support cost-control by repairing instead of replacing when feasible.
• Lead safety meetings and stay up-to-date on OSHA and related laws.
• Provide courteous resident service and resolve complaints efficiently.
