Job summary

W.E. O'Neil Construction in Chicago, IL seeks a Project Superintendent to oversee all on-site field activities, supervise subcontractors, and drive safety, quality and schedule adherence on multi‑million dollar projects.

The position requires a four‑year degree or 5–10 years of field experience, proficiency with scheduling software, OSHA 30, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience
• 5–10 years of relevant field experience as a Project Superintendent or similar role
• Proficiency with scheduling software (MS Project, P6) and project management tools
• OSHA 30-Hour Safety Course; First Aid and CPR certified
• Proficiency in basic computer tools (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site field activities, administration and supervision
• Mentor Assistant Project Superintendent(s), Field Engineer(s) and laborers
• Supervise subcontractors, vendor coordination and subcontractor management
• Develop, maintain and enforce site logistics, site safety programs and schedules
• Coordinate material deliveries, subcontracts and change orders
• Maintain project quality control and ensure regulatory compliance
