Job summary

W.E. O'Neil Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Superintendent in Chicago, IL to support field activities on a designated project.

You will assist the Senior Project Superintendent and other supervisors, helping to manage schedules, safety programs, and subcontractor coordination on a multi-million dollar project. The role requires a four-year degree in construction-related field or equivalent field experience, plus familiarity with scheduling tools and project management software.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree or 3-5 years minimum field experience as a Field Engineer or equivalent.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Basic familiarity with scheduling software (MS Project, P6) and project management tools such as Prolog, Viewpoint, CMiC.
• OSHA 30-Hour Safety Course completed; First Aid/CPR certified.

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Project Superintendent or assigned supervisors on field activities.
• Support development and maintenance of project schedules (eight-week look-ahead).
• Help enforce site safety programs and SWPPP measures.
• Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and subcontractor activities.
• Assist in maintaining project documents, inspections, and testing records.
