Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced HVAC Design Engineer to lead complex ductwork, piping and equipment selection for large-scale facilities, with remote work within the U.S. The role emphasizes independent work, client coordination, and technical leadership on multi-disciplinary projects across educational, healthcare, corporate, and science sectors.

Ideal candidates bring a PE in the U.S., LEED accreditation, and strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes, plus proficiency in Revit and energy

Qualifications

• Current PE license in the United States.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Life Safety Codes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Experience with Revit, Trane Trace or Trane 3D Plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and direct complex HVAC systems for large-scale buildings.
• Mentor designers and engineering team; provide technical leadership.
• Oversee project budgets and perform QA/QC reviews of drawings.
• Coordinate with clients and project teams; attend owner meetings.
• Develop BIM models in Revit for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection as required.
• Lead or participate in value engineering sessions with the team.
