Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team, working on educational, healthcare, corporate, and science/tech projects. You will design ductwork and equipment and develop BIM models from schematic through construction administration.

The role requires a 6+ year track record in engineering, ABET-accredited degree, and strong communication skills. PE licensure is preferred and LEED accreditation is welcome; remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
• Current PE in the United States preferred.
• LEED accreditation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems, including ductwork and equipment selection, on assigned projects.
• Direct mechanical discipline project management and monitor progress and budget.
• Calculate heating/cooling loads and perform energy modeling.
• Prepare Revit/BIM construction drawings from schematic to construction administration.
• Research and respond to emergent issues as needed.
• Specify mechanical equipment such as boilers, chillers, and air handling units.
• Review shop drawings for compliance with specs and contract documents.
• Coordinate with clients and project team; attend OAC meetings with budget focus.
