Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking a seasoned HVAC design engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team on educational, healthcare, corporate, and science projects. You will design ductwork, piping and equipment selections under the direction of a licensed engineer and may supervise PM activities within the mechanical discipline.

This role is remote in the U.S., with preferred locations near major hubs, requires a 6+ year track record, an engineering degree (ABET-accredited), and proficiency with Revit or

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required.
• Minimum 6 years of related experience.
• Current PE in the United States preferred; LEED accreditation preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to manage multiple projects.
• Experience with Revit and energy design tools such as Trane Trace or similar.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, and equipment selections; may supervise PM activities.
• Calculate heating/cooling loads and perform energy modeling.
• Prepare Revit/BIM modeling from schematic to construction administration; model plumbing/fire protection as needed.
• Review shop drawings for compliance with specifications and contract documents; coordinate with clients.
• Conduct site visits, attend meetings, and coordinate with team; assist with business development.
